The Equity Metrics program develops evidence-based research on pressing social problems. With data collection, collation, analysis, visualization, mapping expertise, we produce timely and rigorous policy research concerning racial/social inequities. Recent applications include:

- Research on zoning reform through
- Zoning Reform Tracker for municipalities
- Single Family Zoning analysis for MPOs in California
- Data collection and analysis of California Zoning Atlas
- Assessment of racial disparities through data and analysis
- Empirical analysis and modeling for siting affordable housing, and
- Modeling spatial distribution of opportunity
- Measuring inclusivity globally and within the US
We have also published on the demographic impacts of natural disasters, assisted with the development of equity-based student-assignment policies, and analyzed RHNA and LIHTC policies.

- Conducting spatial and statistical analysis of demographic data.
- Data visualization using tables, charts, maps, and infographics.

- Developing interactive web maps and other web-based data tools that inform planning and policy decisions.
