“I want a better future. For me, for you, and for everyone.” —Tracy La, VietRISE
We invite you to learn from the multiracial and intergenerational bridging between Vietnamese and Latinx communities in Orange County, California’s Little Saigon
The Power in Belonging video series tells the story of three landmark campaigns in which multiracial organizing and relationship-building led to transformative community change. Each video, offered in English with subtitles in Spanish and Vietnamese, tells the unlikely story of local leaders and residents coming together to bridge across divides of generation, racial and ethnic identity, and language.
These intimate stories illustrate the power of bridging to build shared political identities across lines of difference. Together, they add up to a bigger story that goes beyond the campaigns themselves, displaying the connective power of mutual care, empathy, and solidarity.
Blueprint for Belonging partner organizations VietRISE, Harbor Institute for Economic and Immigrant Justice, El Centro Cultural de México, and Tenants United Santa Ana are featured in the series.
The videos are appropriate for wide use, including community events, community organizing spaces, social media networks, and high school and college classrooms.
