A couple of people presenting at a podium

From March 31st to April 2nd, the Campus Bridging Project hosted its first Sustained Dialogue Retreat, drawing on curriculum from the Sustained Dialogue Institute. For 3 days, student participants and student moderators came together to discuss an array of issues: oppression based on status, oppression based on gender, and oppression based on sexuality. By blending serious content education about systemic oppression with small group dialogue and fun relationship building activities, the retreat built participants’ skills and knowledge while encouraging and empowering participants to see themselves as people who can, in partnership with others, make a meaningful difference in their community. Students came together to develop action plans on how to take action against these issues and left as bridging ambassadors, using their experiences to impact the Berkeley community and beyond.
