Tina Trujillo is an associate professor at UC Berkeley’s School of Education, where she researches and teaches about educational policy and politics, epistemology, democracy, and social justice. Her current interests focus on the tensions and commonalities among scientific, spiritual, and Indigenous ways of knowing. Tina is an Executive Committee member of the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics (BCSP) , where she also serves as the Faculty Director of the BCSP’s Psychedelic Facilitation Certificate Program. Her ethnographic research and evaluation of this program is designed to learn how the program can be inclusive of historically underserved BIPOC communities, how it can serve to identify culturally responsive best practices in the professional preparation of psychedelic facilitators, and how it may advance psychedelics as tools for mending humans’ relationships with the broader natural community.
