Did you know that immigrant voting has long existed in the United States? And that San Francisco just won a court battle to resume noncitizen voting in local school board elections? Knowing this history and the current initiatives around noncitizen voting in California dispels the false notion that citizenship is required to cast a ballot in the United States. Join us on Oct 26, 2023 at 3:30 pm in the IGS library as academic and nonprofit researchers explain where the fight for immigrants’ political voice stands in San Francisco, what it means to communities, and what the future looks like across California
