What would it look like if marginalized neighborhoods were developed but their residents were not displaced? Right now, neighborhood development typically causes massive displacement and harm to already under-resourced communities, a process known as gentrification. This bilingual (Spanish-English) powerpoint explains typical processes of gentrification, and asks students to think about what "development without displacement" could look like. Slides are bilingual in English and Spanish, so ELD friendly, and feature three lessons worth of content.
