On January 17, 2020, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Director john a. powell spoke at an event held by the New England Community Action Partnership about addressing poverty and economic inequality and bringing these issues to the forefront of the 2020 presidential election. Director powell spoke not only directly to the specific socioeconomic challenges that the New England states face but also to the need to have an analysis of structural othering to understand racialized and durable poverty and how to appropriately address these issues through effective policy and action.
