On August 28, 2019, Director john a. powell delivered the keynote address at the Community Action Partnership’s annual national conference in Chicago, IL. Community Action Partnership is a national organization that works in local communities across the country in the fight against poverty. CAP helps uplift the power and agency of communities and also connects those working on the ground to policymakers on the local, state, and national level. Director powell spoke about opportunity mapping, the need to combat extreme individualism as connected to dehumanizing economic and social structures, and building solutions through targeted universalism.
