Heba is the Othering & Belonging Institute's Director of Communications. She is a communications strategist with nearly two decades of experience leading narrative and communications work at the intersection of human rights and social justice, with projects and partnerships spanning more than 150 countries. An Egyptian American immigrant with deep roots in the MENA region, she has driven communications for some of the world's most ambitious global initiatives.

At UN Women, Heba led the communications strategy for the United Nations' landmark Generation Equality Forum, helping generate $40 billion in new global commitments for gender equality and catalyzing over 1,000 policy and advocacy pledges. At Women Deliver, she directed communications for the organization's flagship global conferences, which convened tens of thousands of advocates and leaders to advance gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights. In earlier roles, she designed creative communications strategies at UNICEF and UNDP that helped shift public awareness and double funds to key humanitarian projects, both regionally and globally.

She taught communications at the British University in Egypt, holds a Master's degree in Diversity and the Media from the University of Westminster, and is pursuing a PhD in Communications at Temple University.

Outside of work, she is an avid traveler and a lover of the arts. Always in search of a new city, a good museum, or a story worth telling. She lives in New Jersey, but Cairo remains the city that has her heart.
