Erika Prasad (she/her) is a strategic relationship-builder and social justice fundraiser with an assets-based approach to transformative change work. Her nonprofit fund development experience spans over ten years working with grassroots organizations and statewide coalitions rooted in education, racial justice, and community organizing. With an MA in English Literature from CSU, Sacramento, Erika integrates her academic experience into practice to harness the power of storytelling and re-imagine philanthropy’s role in movement building.
In addition to her lived experiences with system impacts, Erika’s commitment to racial and social justice are grounded on the alignment of strategic partnerships and shifting power to create spaces of belonging. Where the heart meets the mind is at the core of her values. Erika is the proud product of the Central Valley, her Indo-Fijian lineage, and being the granddaughter to Kali Wati, her first teacher. Erika resides on Nisenan Land also known as South Sacramento and in her spare time, she enjoys living her best life.
