Erfan Moradi is a Communications Associate at the Institute. As a member of the Strategic Communications team, Erfan assists with a variety of multimedia and editorial tasks. He aids in producing the Who Belongs? podcast with Marc Abizeid, as well as monitoring the Institute website, producing content for social media, and participating in planning for Institute events. He began his work with the Institute as a 2020 summer fellow.
Erfan is a graduate of the History and Geography departments at the University of California, Berkeley, who specializes in labor and urban histories. His undergraduate thesis and ongoing research follows the proliferation of container shipping in San Francisco Bay Area ports by centering the voices of worker-artists. Outside of academia, he is deeply interested in local art and music, anti-oppressive politics, and radical imaginations. He is a Middle Eastern immigrant living on Chochenyo Ohlone land in so-called California.
