Ella Streng is a video producer and editor at the Othering & Belonging Institute, where she develops and produces video content that advances the institute’s research, programs, and public engagement. She creates video content for the institute’s social media, website, and online curricula. Her videos have garnered over 1.5 million views on YouTube and Instagram, expanding the reach of OBI’s scholarship to global public audiences.
Ella previously participated in OBI’s 2022 Summer Fellowship. She has lived in five countries and currently calls Berlin home. She holds a BA from Minerva University and an MA in North American Studies from Freie Universität Berlin, with concentrations in political science and sociology.
Ella is passionate about collaborating with academics to bring social science research into the public eye through film and multimedia. Before her role at OBI, she produced a multimedia project designed to educate non-academic audiences about racial othering— an approach that continues to inform her work at the institute.
