Director john powell gave the keynote address at the Haas Institute’s 2nd annual Othering & Belonging Conference in Oakland, CA. Speaking to an audience of over 900 people, professor powell spoke to the new forms of Othering that emerged following the results of the 2016 presidential election, and the ways in which we can practice not only resistance but also an ethics of care through the framework of belonging.
