Future Ancestors

About

Future Ancestors is a youth-led organization that started in 2020 in response to the murder of Breonna Taylor and other injustices students had seen and experienced in their community. We are dedicated to centering the voices of girls and young women of color. We are a youth leadership program where young people develop projects to make a difference in our community. Our most notable project is the Race4Justice, a 26 lap relay in honor of the 26 years of Breonna Taylor’s life that raises money for local non-profits. So far, we have donated approximately $90,000 to organizations doing good work in our community.
