Evan Bissel
Evan Bissell facilitates participatory art and research projects that support equitable systems and liberatory processes.
At the Othering & Belonging Institute he creates ways for artists and cultural practitioners to lead processes, actions and analysis that expand belonging at systemic and personal levels. He authored the Institute’s Notes on a Cultural Strategy for Belonging (2019), a collection of essential practices, analysis and case studies that guide the growth of this work at OBI. As an artist, Evan has exhibited at CUNY Graduate Center, on Alcatraz Island, at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Intersection for the Arts, and SOMArts, and facilitated projects in schools (K-12) and community settings throughout the country.
