Zoe Varner (she/her) is a Master of Public Health candidate at UC Berkeley in Environmental Health Sciences, currently pursuing her capstone research in evaluating human right to water on tribal lands in California. Outside of OBI Zoe works on the Human Right to Water research team at the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment through the California Environmental Protection Agency, researching social vulnerability indicators that affect Californians served by domestic wells and state small water systems. Zoe is passionate about Indigenous led-environmental justice, prison abolition, and health equity. At the Othering & Belonging Institute, Zoe is working on the climate justice team to support landscape research, internal planning, and partnership development.
