Sommer Iqbal is a Master of Public Policy student at the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy. Her policy interests include racial justice, equitable governance, housing, and building a just economy. In her role at the Othering and Belonging Institute, Sommer conducts policy research and develops speaking engagement content on behalf of Professor john a. powell. Prior to pursuing her graduate studies, Sommer worked for the City of Dallas in various roles. In her most recent position, she served as the interim Policy Manager of the Office of Equity and Inclusion, where she helped develop Dallas's first Racial Equity Plan. Sommer has a B.S. in International Political Economy from the University of Texas at Dallas.
