This tool was created by the Othering & Belonging Institute and the California Housing Partnership to evaluate housing conditions in the City of San José and inform its affordable housing siting policy. Data sources include: American Community Survey, 2015-2019; City of San José Housing Deparment, 2023; CTCAC/HCD Opportunity Map, 2023; Office of the Assessor, County of Santa Clara, 2020; Urban Displacement Project, 2018.
How to use the San José Affordable Housing Siting Policy Map:
Use the "Siting Policy Areas" tab to map Affordable Housing Expansion and Continued Investment Areas.
Use the "Indicators" tab to map various population indicators.
Use the "Housing Locations" tab to overylay affordable housing locations.
Use the "Siting Policy Overlays" menu to overlay geographies relevant to the Siting Policy.
Use the legend dropdown to display City and Council District boundaries, or dragthe legend slider to filter Census Tracts.
