SPEAKERS AT OTHERING & BELONGING
We have confirmed a number of thought leaders with deep expertise in exploring Othering and advancing belonging, including: bell hooks, Andrew Solomon, Naomi Klein, Charles Blow, Ai-jen Poo, Lynn Manning, Manuel Pastor, Shakti Butler, john a. powell, Luis Garden Acosta, Guillermo Gómez-Peña, and Joanna Macy- and we are adding many more as we finalize our workshops.
REGISTRATION & FEES
Registration fees cover all conference events including keynote and plenary sessions, workshops, and cultural performances, beginning Friday, April 24 at 7:00 pm and ending on Sunday, April 26 by 2:30 pm. Find more details on our registration page.
- General Registration: $250.00
- Community/Campus Affiliates Registration: $175.00 - Staff from nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, including UC Berkeley, and for residents of the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Fixed Income Registration: $75.00 - Undergraduates, graduate, and other students enrolled in the current 2014-15 academic term at any educational institution; senior citizens; and those on any other fixed income. (Update: There is no documentation or ID necessary to register at this rate.)
- Group Rate: For groups of 5 or more you can receive a discount of $50 off either the general or community registration rate. Please email Jessica Chin or call her at 510-642-3805 if you have questions about group registration or if you need to pay by check.
We have worked hard to keep registration fees as economical as possible given the expense of putting together a conference of this size. We are continuously pursuing external funding support so that we can expand opportunities for scholarships. ACCESSIBILITY
The Othering & Belonging conference proceedings will be wheelchair accessible. Please refrain from using scented products. For any access needs, please contact Ebonye Gussine Wilkins.
INTEPRETATION
We will be offering simultaneous Spanish and sign language interpretation during the keynote and plenary dialogues. For other language interpretation needs, please contact Ebonye Gussine Wilkins.
CHILDCARE SUPPORT
We will be offering childcare during the conference. Please contact Patty Linares at the Haas Institute as soon as possible if you have childcare needs.
