Sagaree Jain (they/them) is a writer, researcher, non profit worker, graduate student, and poet from the Silicon Valley currently working on a Masters of Public Health from the University of California at Berkeley. They hold a BA in History with a minor in English from UC Berkeley, where they conducted original research on family planning in India with support from the Department of History and the Center for Race and Gender. Before returning to Berkeley, Sagaree served as a John Gardner Fellow at Human Rights Watch, researching best practices in human rights interviewing and rights violations in HIV service delivery in Malaysia. They also served as a Global Health Corps fellow at the Center for Health, Human Rights, and Development in Kampala, Uganda, supporting research on the impacts of the Global Gag Rule. Sagaree is passionate about arts in movement spaces, racial, environmental, and gender justice, and community based research.
