Karina French is a master's student in the Energy and Resources Group (ERG) at UC Berkeley, studying urban climate resilience and how climate impacts will affect social infrastructure systems that protect vulnerable populations in cities. Prior to graduate school, Karina worked on metro-regional scale climate planning and analysis at the Institute for Sustainable Communities, serving regions in the U.S. facing the most immediate climate impacts. Though her focus is now urban, she was previously rooted in rural food access and sustainable agriculture in Vermont. She holds a B.S. in Geography and B.A. in English Literature from University of Maryland.
