Kaitlyn Kong (she/her/hers) is currently a MCP candidate at UC Berkeley Center for Environmental Design City Planning Program and a research assistant to Professor john a. powell. She received her B.A. in Environmental Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. Prior to graduate school, she worked at a regional planning organization doing transportation planning/equity work in the rural counties of South Carolina. Kaitlyn's research focuses include: Transportation Planning and Equity, Active/Multi-Modal Transportation, Public Transportation, Green and Complete Streets, Streetscape, Sustainable Development, Public Spaces, Green Spaces, Sustainable Cities, Resiliency Planning, Livability. She is committed to centering and serving low-income, LGBTQ+ communities of color and other marginalized communities in her work.
