Francesca Zepeda (she/they) is a second-year MSW candidate at UC Berkeley, joining the OBI team as a Housing Research Assistant. Born and raised in San Francisco, CA, she received her BA in Latin American Studies with a concentration in Community & Global Health from Macalester College. During her time at Macalester, she traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to study the impact of Olympic and World Cup development on favela residents and became passionate about housing justice. After graduating, she spent several years working with unhoused people in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. She hopes to use her graduate degree to continue to serve this population through policy advocacy.
