Breanna (she/her) is the Summer Fellowship Coordinator at the Institute. She is a current fourth year student at UC Berkeley double majoring in Native American Studies and Political Science. Her previous research focuses on the role of Eurocentric ideas of land use and the normalization of Native land dispossession in elementary school social studies curriculum. She also currently serves as an Anti-Oppression Coordinator within the Berkeley Student Cooperative, where she holds workshops and support circles with students related to different axes of systemic oppression. After graduating in 2022, Breanna plans on pursuing a master's degree in education and later becoming a history teacher in Los Angeles, her home (the ancestral land of the Tongva, or Gabrieleño).
