Dr. Mujahid’s current research examines how features of neighborhood environments impact cardiovascular health and health disparities. Using data from several U.S. based cardiovascular cohorts, Dr. Mujahid seeks to improve the measurement of specific features of neighborhood physical and social environments and use state of the art statistical methods to estimate “causal” neighborhood health effects. In related research, Dr.
Samir Gambhir works as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) researcher and manager of Opportunity Mapping program at the Othering & Belonging Institute. He has more than 9 years of experience in the field of mapping, spatial analysis and web-GIS. He has research experience in the areas of social justice, racial equity, planning, health and business, with a focus on human geography. Prior to joining the Othering & Belonging Institute, Samir worked as GIS Manager for Centre for Global Health Research (CGHR), Toronto.
