Anna Palmer previously served as a 2019 Summer Fellow at the Othering & Belonging Institute and is currently a Research Assistant continuing her work with the Global Justice Program’s Climate Refugees project. She recently graduated from Occidental College with a degree in Sociology, concentrated in migration, race, and education. In her senior thesis work, Anna conducted primary research to explore how Afro-Caribbean mothers navigate contrasting parenting values and practices as immigrants in the United States. She is currently a trainer with the Posse Foundation, a college-access program that selects students who are overlooked by traditional college admission processes and trains them to be leaders of tomorrow. Anna hopes to utilize her passion for climate, migration, and race to interrogate the intersections of global environmental justice and law as a J.D. candidate in the future.
