Amalee is currently a J.D. candidate at Berkeley Law and a Research Assistant to professor powell. She got her B.A. in Comparative Religion with a focus on lived religion in global societies, and a minor in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights from Harvard College. After graduating in 2017 she spent a year living with religious communities in Senegal and Morocco as a Trustman Fellowship recipient, then worked as a gardener and cook in Los Angeles before coming to Berkeley Law. Amalee hopes to use her J.D. to support grassroots organizing aimed at dismantling racist social and legal structures in the US.
