Alina Zheng is a Student Data Analyst with the Equity Metrics Program, where she contributes to research and data projects focused on advancing equity and addressing systemic inequalities.
Before joining the Othering & Belonging Institute, Alina served as a peer advisor at CalTeach, supporting undergraduates pursuing careers in education, and as a student researcher at the Berkeley BEST Lab, where she explored applications of machine learning. She is driven by a deep interest in data-driven storytelling and the power of technology to uncover patterns, inform policy, and amplify efforts toward social justice.
Originally from New Jersey and Southern California, Alina is currently pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, and Education at UC Berkeley. She is interested in applying data analytics and technology to better understand and address issues of inequity. Outside of her academic and research work, she enjoys hiking, playing board games, exploring new places, and spending time with her dog.
